Happy Holidays |
As I ease back into this space and resume this conversation, which has been cut off by a busy schedule, I want to share a resource for picture book writers--the Horn Book's compilation of articles and musings on picture books. It's been around since November, but perhaps you missed it then, as I did.
These are good days, before the New Year, to read, to store up, to think about what's next. And these articles are a good place to begin.
And it's not too early to start thinking about those New Year's Day black-eyed peas. This fritter recipe from Epicurious.com will be on our plates, but we'll be doing the flat, pancake-like version that doesn't require five cups (!!) of coconut oil.
It's good to be back, good to be wishing all good health, strong hearts, and strength to your sword arms (thanks Brenda Ueland) for the rest of 2012 and 2013.
Oh, the fritter recipe sounds divine! Think I'll make them, also (and maybe add fresh crab meat). Happy New Year's to you and yours, Jackie!

Oh you coastal folks...
ReplyDeleteActually adding fresh crab sounds divine.
Good to hear from you. Hope to see you in 2013.
I'm totally making the fritters today (with crab) and a lemon aioli for dipping. Can't wait! Thanks again! Bon appetite'!
